Try out these three things to ease off unnecessary stress at work.

Work life takes an average of 40 to 60 hours a week. Even if you love what you do, workplace stress can be overwhelming and harm health. With these tips, you will learn how to manage workplace stress, the next time they arise.

1. Take a step back: When possible take time out to reflect on how much your work is affecting your mental well-being. Often, we get caught up with work and leave little time for self-care. Self-care only means that you recognise that you have pushed yourself as far as you can and need to recharge. Taking time to restore has a significant positive effect on output and productivity. When you are burnt out, neither engage in work-related activities nor think about work. If you are not able to take time turning off your smartphone, can do much good for a short while.

2. Develop a productive morning routine: Set a method for yourself that is conscious and relaxing. Having a slow, mindful routine can leave you feeling recharged and ready to face the day ahead. A few of these include writing out the tasks for the day in a journal with a cup of tea. Others consider meditation as a useful method for being mindful in the mornings.

3. Stop Multitasking: Contrary to popular belief, multitasking is not an effective means of maximising time. Research shows that employees work faster when they focus on one task at a time. Cut out distractions by trying out the Pomodoro technique. This method has proved to be very useful in increasing productivity
