Our Client, a leading power/energy company is looking to onboard a seasoned project finance professional who have proven project management and contract negotiation skills for multi-sized power projects while exhibiting strong general management, strategy and technical expertise for effective business operations.
Purpose of role
Full structuring and development of the project finance and development strategy for large scale power & energy projects across board. Also includes:
•Negotiate term sheets with lenders and equity investors
•Extensive Interface with Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and providing comments to proposed regulations
•Provide strategic support to management on adopting creative approaches to select and execute projects.
•Providing detailed project plan, status checks/reviews, completion of all project deliverables for each project on time, within budget and at acceptable level of quality
•Assist in providing supervision to the management of organization’s distribution subsidiaries or special purpose vehicles
•Play a major role in securing finance for each project
•Assist in providing oversight and management support of the execution of organization’s construction projects, including the generation plant, the sub transmission lines, the substations etc.
•Support the development of expansion of power distribution projects and in the overall energy sector of Nigeria and Sub-Sahara Africa.
•The ability to manage multiple projects and the drive to succeed in a fast paced and high growth environment.
•Engagement and negotiations with various government and non-government teams including the power sector regulator, power off-taker/bulk trader, international oil companies, ministries of power, petroleum, etc.
Qualifications & Skills
•A first degree from a recognized institution and an MBA from an accredited business school (MBA in Finance preferably)
•A vast Project Finance experience with power projects development and good knowledge of power systems operation, policies and regulation
•Experience in Finance Modelling (Development and Implementation); Negotiations, Mergers and Acquisitions
•15 years’ work experience with at least 7 years in Senior Management
•Possesses good business ethics with knowledge and practice of corporate governance code
•International Exposure to Global macro issues affecting businesses.
